Lichii vs Eglantine
Lichii is not an official successor, and Eglantine has not stopped. On 7 Nov 2026 both repositories were publishing. Lichii says it builds on Eglantine, Eden, yuzu, and Sudachi. That is a shared history, not a single straight line I can prove from the README alone.

What moved between them
Build 70 notes say Lichii merged upstream Eglantine three times. Build 75 brought over a 64-bit wait-on-address change that let Ocarina of Time start. Build 83 brought further upstream repairs. Lichii-only notes cover Ocarina Dynamic FPS and Max Resolution, a Star Fox DLSS de-jitter, a Kirby white-world fix, M4 Pro fastmem, and the Lichii updater.
Upstream v0.1.0-rc1, dated 4 Nov 2026, is labeled do-not-use by that project. I am not recommending it. Daily upstream tags also exist, including a branch-nx2 experimental tag on 7 Nov 2026. If you want the newest upstream experiment, that is Eglantine. If you want the Ocarina plugins described in Lichii notes, start with Lichii build 93.
Both READMEs say saves and shader caches from the Eden and Eglantine family can be kept. I still would not point two checkouts at one folder without a backup. There is no same-machine, same-settings comparison I can cite, so I will not declare a faster project.
FAQ
Did Lichii replace Eglantine?
No. Upstream was still tagging releases on 7 Nov 2026.
Can I compare build 93 with upstream build 212?
The numbers belong to different projects. A higher number is not a newer Lichii.
Which one for Ocarina of Time?
Lichii build 93 is the one whose notes and catalog describe that game in detail. That is not a benchmark win.
